ETB Sector

Voluntary Sector

- SNA guidelines from NCSE in relation to the role of the SNA will make the operation in schools impossible.
- Management of SNAs, financial allowance and management structures.
- Irish exemptions still causing conflict at school level between principal and parents. Responsibility for granting exemptions must revert to the DEY.
- Opening of Special classes being imposed on school without consultation and collaboration is not satisfactory. Collaborative and professional conversations must be part of the process at school level.
- Admin load of school buildings along with the delays in delivering buildings. For special classes the infrastructure must be in place ahead of the opening of the special class.
Community & Comprehensive Sector

- No post primary school should have an allocation for a fraction of a DP. Full DPs must be allocated to all schools and lower the threshold for DEIS schools for a second DP.
- Child protection training for all staff. Who pays wages for cleaners to do training and clean the school. Significant financial cost to schools.
