Dear Colleagues,


The Department is currently conducting the annual survey of substitute teachers and is seeking your assistance in the promotion of the survey through your channels of communications with schools.


The purpose of this survey is to help the Department understand patterns of working of substitute teachers in primary and post-primary schools in Ireland. The Department is inviting anyone who has provided substitute work in the last school year 2023/24 to respond.


The survey may be accessed by scanning the QR code in the attached posters (Irish and English versions).


The information gathered will be used for statistical purposes only and will be presented in aggregate in the form of a report. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete.


Please note, the survey will be live until 28th February 2025.


All submissions will be anonymous, and we greatly appreciate your time and assistance with this.
